Cakes and Cookies for Kids

I am in the mood to bake a cake.
Every so often it hits me. I want to make something towering and awesome. Making dinner or small desserts is fun and everything, but there is something about baking a cake that makes me feel like a real woman. If you’ve ever baked a cake before you probably know the feeling I mean. There’s something about the effort that goes into a cake that makes you feel like you’re really accomplishing something important, and the response from those around who see it and get to enjoy it is usually equally thrilling. There is no modesty involved in cake baking. When you present the cake there really is no way to hide the fact that what you just did is awesome. There’s just not.
It’s a good thing I’m in the mood to bake a cake, because I have a big cake to bake here in the next few weeks. I am going to bake a cake for the person who donates the most money for Brian’s Laps for Little Ones campaign. He is running in a fun run to support the Little Light House in honor of a kid named Josiah Melton. You can read about our Laps Campaign by clicking right here.
So, as a thank you from me, the person who donates the most is getting an awesome cake of their choice. Of course they can choose from one of the previous cakes I’ve made, or they can pick something new and different. I will go all out for the winner.
I also am going to send a special treat to EVERYONE who donates towards our campaign. A special homemade treat from me will be mailed or hand delivered to everyone who supports the Little Light House for us by October 8 at midnight. The run is October 9, and on October 10 I’ll get baking!
If you would like to support our fundraising efforts just visit our site and make a donation. All gifts are tax-deductible and go to the Little Light House, a tuition-free preschool for kids with special needs. I can’t think of a better cause!
